LDAP returns phone numbers

I have a customer that did his own LDAP setup on a KM Bizhub 552. He claims that the LDAP search is finding all the correct people in his directory, but it's coming up with phone numbers (and trying to dial them as faxes) instead of email addresses. I haven't gone there yet, but I've never heard of such a thing. Any idea what might be wrong?

I would say the search string is wrong.

When a fax kit is installed the LDAP defers to faxing before emails.

I had this issue on a C353, but there was a Knowledge Base on it, instructing me to download special firmware and change around a soft switch.

I see no such Knowledge Base for the 552, but I am sure it's the same thing.

LDAP search requires selection of name destination key on returned name to scan to E-mail.
Solution:
CAUSE: Fax kit is installed. LDAP search return defaults to fax on returned results.

SOLUTION: Special firmware, version GC6-R6 (GD6-R6 for bizhub C253 and GE6-R6 for bizhub C203), is now available that allows the default to be set to E-mail instead of fax.
This firmware is available for download via the Konica Minolta Download Selector:
1. Login in via www.mykonicaminolta.com
2. Select the "Service" link located on the top of the page.
3. Select the "SSD (DNA, Drivers, MSDS)" link located on the left.
4. Select the "Continue on to the SSD Home Page" link located in the middle of the page.
5. Select the "Download MSDS, Drivers, Firmware and more" link located on the left.
Notes:
a. Please follow these steps:

• Confirm that you have firmware GC6-R6, GD6-R6, GE6-R6 installed and displayed under MFP Controller. Use the firmware corresponding your MFP.
  
• If not, install firmware version G00-R6 then GC6-R6.
  
• Access your SoftSw Settings and select Switch No. 48.
  
• Select Hex Assignment, select → (right arrow) and enter 8.
  
• If done correctly you should be able to see under Bit Assignment the following:

00001000

• Select Fix.
  
• Select End.
  
• Reboot the MFP.

Thanks. There is a similar solution for the C652, and since the 552 is a B/W variant of that model, I assume it's the same problem.
