    Cloud Storage

I'm curious what cloud storage are you using? I've been using Dropbox for about a year and have been quite satisfied
with the features and operation. I've been using it to send links to customers for operator manuals/ firmware/ and software
upgrades. Free to join and bonus space can be earned up to about 20GB.
Pros/cons of the cloud storage you're using.

(I have no ties to Dropbox other than being a customer.)

    Re: Cloud Storage

I used to use YouSendIt to send files directly to customers. I only used the free version, which was somewhat limited.

I switched to DropBox about 2 years ago, and I've never looked back. It's been great.

A friend of mine owns a print shop down the street, and that's what he uses to get customers' files so he can print them.

Sure beats the old days of burning and delivering CDs, or, dare I say it, Zip disks.

I've been using Box.com. There's a few limitations on file size, but I got 50GB of space thanks to my tablet. The big advantage is that I can set up sharing based on the individual file or directory. It's been a real help at times and also has allowed me to collect files along the way to review later.

As long as it is being used for non sensitive data OK for both Dropbox and YouSendit. However I would not use it for critical or personal files.

Good point on the sensitive files.

In fact, my largest customer (something like 300,000 employees), has it blocked.

I've been using sixable send for large files. So far so good and it's free.

Yeah, I have been using Dropbox as well which I now have about 52GB worth of storage.

I keep a lot of support documentation in there and give customers the public link to the direct file if they need it. I also have customer site information in there so if I forget a password, I always have access to the documentation instead of trying to copy the files via VPN.

To be honest with you all, I don't really keep any person information in there, just stuff for work.
Please don't ask me for firmware or service manuals as refusal often offends.

                    Re: Cloud Storage

Many of our techs have a dropbox account, and we use a shared folder to pass files (firmware, drivers) back and forth. My work account has a shared folder with my home account, and with my family account.

I have also used Live, Ubuntu, Filesanywhere, google+, and box. All have thier advantages is size and interface. For work, I prefer Dropbox for its ease, and Filesanywhere because it works well with Blackberry (work phone).

I prefer sugar-sync rather than using dropbox. Sugar-sync provides 5GB space initially and you will get 500mb additional space once you refer a person.

Sound like a good reason to use public-key encryption like PGP.

I picked up a Synology NAS and the most recent update gives you Cloud Station. Basically you host your own cloud. App like Drop Box for you desktops. You control your data and the amount. 1TB for me.
