I have one that intermittently drops off the customers network. when it falls off it will not respond to an laptop with a crossover connection. we have replaced the sys and image pcb , nvram and the resident cf cards. it will usually stay online for 3-5 days. Turning it on/off will bring the controller back on line.

Go to another PC on the network and ping the copier. Then go pull the network cable and see if you can still ping the same address. You are looking to see of another device is using the same IP address.
I've had mucho problems in the past with this issue. On the older Minolta controllers, it would clobber them to the point where a simple power cycle would not bring them back. -
I've had a similar issue with a 750. The customers PC's were using DHCP and had been picking the IP that the 750 was given. Make sure they are reserving the IP for the 600 on the DHCP server.the savin2535 is displaying well bet the hiter lamp is not shining and the lamp had been tested o.k.please kindly help.Samir: No, not again. I... why does it say paper jam when there is no paper jam? I swear to God, one of these days, I just kick this piece of shit out the window.
Michael Bolton: You and me both, man. That thing is lucky I'm not armed.Comment

Thanks for the replies, we did confrirm the IP address reservation. I have also heard back, finally, from my DSM and he claims there is a new firmware level coming out in mid-April (didnt say which year..lol) to address the issue.
We have placed a loaner machine (KB500) in its place and so far it has stayed on.Comment

Had a similar Ricoh machine do the samething, months ago, and it was the LAN card. Just wondering how a DHCP Server would have to do with this problem?
Given the assuming Win Environment... all nodes would support DHCP and hince should not be a problem. A simple packet capture should show that the MFP is calling out to confirm it's address from the server. If not... well, you have a problem with the controller, most likely dead. This is what I saw on my instance of this problem.
A quick look at the NIC Card showed that that the power LED was off. This meant that there was no power entering the card. I first thought it was the cable, but after changing it out, I found that the LED was still off. Come to find out that the LAN Card was dead. Go figure!!sigpic
The first law states that energy is conserved: The change in the internal energy is equal to the amount added by heating minus the amount lost by doing work on the environment.Comment

Biz 750
Interesting. This week I have a new 750 in a print shop that has a number of XP and Mac OS 10.5 boxes. The WinXP machines usually print fine but the Mac's have a terrible time. I've loaded the Mac's with both LPR Daemon and IP print and each has different styles of failure. From a cold boot the copier prints fine from the XP's but once a Mac tries to print the communication is unreliable. Ping's loose 1 or 3 packets of the group of 4. Odd thing is, they have a KM 7055 next to the 750 and it have no problems with either source of print jobs!Comment
