    Windows 8 *!@#$%^&

Just loaded windows 8 on a test PC to get the feel on the new operating system. Holly crap BatMan. If this does not drive people to a MAC I don't know what will. These people have lost their mind. Can not see how to view MY document, change network setting, view programs installed, etc.

Windows 8 has a new learning curve to it.
I had it on my net-book and on my laptop with multi-boot situations, XP Win 7 & 8 on both.
Win 8 wanted to take over just about everything - not happening.
I would suggest that you take a lot of time to restructure your learning curve for this one.
I had put together a test unit with the bare minimum to run this new os, what a joke that was.
I don't know many people that are going to upgrade to win 8 before service pack 1 is released.

I've already decided that my next computer will be a MAC. I am fed up with Windoze. I'll upgrade to 8, but it's still a MAC for me.

I wonder why people won't give Linux a chance.... hell MOST of the new copiers I work on have linux print drivers for them right on there site. Plus, Valve has said it will port Steam over to Linux (ie gaming)

PLEASE TELL ME WHY linux is NOT a choice for you, I'd be willing to bet the learning curve for it is less than what we'll get with Win 8.

Color is not 4 times harder... it's 65,000 times harder. They call it "TECH MODE" for a reason. I have manual's and firmware for ya, course... you are going to have to earn it.

Microsoft has finallyspilled most pricing details for Windows 8. But buying and upgrading is stillconfusing. Use this guide to find the cheapest, best way to upgrade. Oh, and besure to read this if you plan to stick with Windows 7. You can avoid a biggotcha if you know your rights.

I have over and over again. inevitably I will be forced to install something with terminal I'll spent two hours on YouTube trying to wrap my head about the terminology and file structure. Once in eezy peezy Linux I couldn't open pdfs, I had to learn about the repository.

Then there's the work related issues with software like isw for Konica firmware and scanner utilities.
Linux is nice for the basics but should not be underestimated
