    Microsoft Ws-Scan

Hello, i was wondering if anyone here has configured this. or lead me in the right direction to configure WS-Scan on 2008 server. Im working on a Konica Minolta c554 and have enabled WS-Services. I add it to the scanner applet on 2008 server and it never shows up on the copier scanner panel. thanks

Any help or info would be appreciated

Is the C554 setup as a network printer on your 2008 server? I'm not sure but I think web services needs a URL to find the MFP not a tcp/ip port.

Ive never tried serving up WSD scanning, but I do serve up SMB folder shares for the users to scan to shares on the server, then I go map the folder to a desktop shortcut on their computers... This setup never gives me problems, though I do this on Kyocera's not Konica Minolta's.. Makes me want to try it.. It doesn't seem as reliable as good 'ol SMB scanning, though, since WSD is a fairly new network protocol, but then again, all networking protocols started as new.. Is it Server 2008 or Server 2008 R2? I'll see what I can dig up...
