    Kyocera RI 3530 scanning issue

Not really a IT guy so this is probably a simple fix... Customer acquired this machine and has it printing great from computer.
They cannot get it to scan documents and the copier says it is not available although it seems to have the
option installed. Their are several ports on the machine including a male and female parallell ports and 3 ethernet connection ports also a coax port, so I would think it should scan, Any help would be great
    THANKS SO MUCH.

Re: Kyocera RI 3530 scanning issue

You are on the right track. This model uses 2 ethernet ports, one for scanning and one for printing. The one above the port you are using for printing is the one for scanning. It will need its own IP address. I see a lot of 4 port switches setup with the 3530 to accomodate the 2 ports + 2 IP addresses. Then you need to install the "Scan File Utility" on the PC's you want to scan too. You will have to add destinations and make sure the service is running on the PC before sending something from the 3530. Hope this helps.
