Installing Print Drivers On Mac Os X 10.8 Just Hangs

Hi All just putting this out there not to sure what is going on, I was installing a print driver for a kyocera 2120 MFP on mac 10.8 and it just sits at the installing bar i can open it agree to the T&C but when it go's to install just hangs there then i reset it and same thing.

So i tried it on my mac (also 10.8) works fine ?, then installed it on a 10.7 worked fine, so i know it is someting to do with the mac dose anyone know what might fix/casue this issue ?.

Even though it failed you still need to run the uninstall program. Mac's don't work the same as Windows with the install shield. If an install fails, you have to undo the failed install, then try again. Otherwise it will just keep failing. The uninstall package should be on the same CD with the driver.

I would try logging on as Admin or making sure your user has "user has admin rights to computer" is checked.

Another thing to check is that you aren't installing an older version of the print driver. If there is a newer version already installed that will cause it to fail too.

Along with running the uninstall, have you looked to see if there is a driver already built into CUPS on the Mac? I don't have a 10.8 machine to check so I can't be sure...

Hey all thanks for the suggestions never would have thought to run the uninstaller i will keep that one in the back of my mind. also yes the user was a local admin. as it was one mac he left it for his IT guy to look at so not to sure if it got resolved we have another machine going out soon so will chase up when that go's out.
