    Re: Workflow

Workflow is more than that. Scanning is "paper turns to PDF in a folder". Workflow is "now what do you want to do with it". This can entail OCR, Archiving, Distribution, Security, etc.
In essence, a workflow is designed to impove the customers processes and save them time and/or money. It involves time on your part determining how to turn thier current manual processes into a workflow using your hardware/software. In the end you are saving them manhours and cost going forward, and they should be paying you for this work.

    Workflow

Would it be fair to describe workflow solutions as an advanced form of scanning?

Scanning Level 1. Scan to Folder/Email. The file arrives at its destination but the user must manually do something with it.

Scanning Level 2. OCR. Scanned files are processed into other useful formats but the user must manually do something with it.

Scanning Level 2A. Meta Scan. Scanned and processed documents are guided to specific folders via a selection of drop down boxes.

Scanning Level 3. Document Archival/ Retrieval via Document management software.

Scanning Level 4. When a scan gets sent to a network folder it is processed and then automatically sent as to somewhere else in the organization imitating the way documents move from one person to another.
