    Minolta Di351 offline

Keep having a problem with a Minolta Di351 with the Pi3502 controller that keeps intermittently going off line and won't allow any printing to it. Its connected to a Windows OS server 2003 system. Have tried reloading PCL drivers. Any suggestions??

Make sure it is on a LPR port and not a RAW port, and give it a print queue of PORT1.
    Good Luck.
The gene pool could use a little chlorine.

Are you loading the drivers that come with the 2003 server?

Don't know how the server will respond when the controller is busy if servicing another peer connected workstation to the controller. You might try changing the ip address to something new to verify it isn't being used directly by a workstation. Now would also be a good time to make sure the ip address is unique to the copier, ie; not used by another device. This controller/nic will absolutely crash and die if there is another device using the same ip address.

Once you are sure everything on the network side of things is good, then you might want to consider resetting the nic and possibly the controller at the board level.

Agree with JSC, you could also delete the existing port and create a new one using the info JSC gave you. There is nothing wrong with using the RAW port that I know of. It just won't work out of the box with the default settings. As for the LPR queue name, I have run into occasions where there was a naming conflict. Strangely enough, one name that I've used with no apparent troubles is "print".

Nope. You got it right the first time. The 'official' Minolta LPR queue name is PORT1. I just could never remember it and just got away with another name. There are definitely names that will NOT work, though.

You might try with the HP Laserjet III driver, it's working fine.
