Hi everyone. I installed a Ricoh MP C4500 last week and during set up I was asked if they could print from their smart phones. I said no but I'm not that sharp on IT stuff so I thought I better ask the experts, that would be you. Thank you for any information you can give on this.

What smartphones? Apple, Droid, Blackberry? I know with Apple all you need to do is install AirPrint on the network and make sure the iPhone is on the same network and it will print. Some of the newer Ricoh boxes come with AirPrint built in. ie MPc4502.

there is a option that can be added called hot spot printing it basicly prints an email that you send to it from any device that has email capabilitiesComment

For Android, get the app SmartDevice Print. For iPhone, some newer models support AirPrint, older ones use SmartDevice Print.Comment

You can install AirPrint onto a Windows server for free, or if you have a Mac server you can install handyPrint (previously known as AirPrint Activator) for a small donation.Comment
