    IR-2200/3300/5000/6000 Wireless Abilities

We are starting to get some customers who want their copiers to be able to do wireless. I have checked around and found a few possibilities. I have not connected any wirelessly but was wondering what you would think. It looks like the following three ideas would work but which would be best?
    Linksys WGA54G Wireless Game Adapter
    Linksys WPS54G Wireless Print Server
    Linksys WET54G Wireless Ethernet Bridge

Bottom line, which would be better, the game adapter, print server or ethernet bridge? Also, is it easy to configure? Are you still able to scan to email and such with the wireless setup as with the Canon IR-3300i?

    Thank you,
    Todd

    Thank you,

    Linksys WGA54G Wireless Game Adapter

Of the three options, this one seems to be the best. You are pretty much substituting a copier for a game console.

    Linksys WPS54G Wireless Print Server

    Totally inappropriate......

    Linksys WET54G Wireless Ethernet Bridge

I think this would work just as well as the 'game adapter'. I suspect this will cost more than the game box along with perhaps additional functionality.

    An Access Point http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satel...=0367636433B03
    would also work.

You really need to make sure that whatever you use integrates with the existing/planned infrastructure. Personally, I try to stay with the same brand devices. This is getting to be less of a concern than it used to be..... but even so.....

'Easy' is relative. Easy for me, not so much for someone who knows nothing about networking. I don't consider myself any more than just educated about the basics. Game adapter by its nature should be the simplest to set up and most limited. But, will do what you describe.

Scanning functionality is why you want to stay away from the 'print server'.

        Scott,

Thanks for the reply. That will surely help. I will give the game adapter a try.

I would use a Wireless bridge. sthat might be more expesive but all you need to do is to configure the birdge with the same settings as their wireless network. like SSID, WEP, give it a static IP, and another static IP to the copier and your are done.
e-mail will work fine its just like having the machine hard wired.

          good luck

I was gonna say to download the user/networking/scanning manual from your favorite Cannon website. But, I'm finding that usa.cannon.com is the only office equipment company website that I haven't been able to download user manuals in years.
