    Scanning for active FTP servers.

    Is there freeware available to scan a network for active FTP servers?

    With "Softperfect Netscan" I'm able to find open 21 ports but how to detect FTP servers when they use uncommon ports?

      I use this lightweight bit of software to scan for all ip addresses on a network and it will also tell you what ports are open and closed on each. It does crash a bit, but it gets the job done. The download is from CNET so you can be sure it is safe. If you don't trust the link then search for it at download.cnet.com.
