All macs stop printing after installing new router

Environment has both windows and mac clients. Customer replace their router and now the macs will not print to their Bizhub C220 mfp. All windows clients can still print. Router was set to the same ip scope they used before. What could be different on the mac side?

I am asking this before I go out their on Monday. I heard one of our other techs was out their for hour and half trying to figure it out so I just want arm myself the best I can. The only thing that comes to mind is that all the mac were setup to use bonjour. Is it possible the router is not capable of it. I thinking if that is the case then reinstalling the print drivers using TCP/IP instead.

The Macs were probably printing through AppleTalk; best change the drivers to print through LPD (either direct IP or hostname).

LPD is going to be the best way to go: it's a good stable process and isn't dependent on Apple only protocols like Bonjour/Apple Talk. I even set up my Windows machines to use LPR for printing. It seems to limit the number of issues I have in general.

Yeah looks like it was using bonjour before the router change. Looks like the tech before downloaded the driver a couple times but installed using a generic postscript driver. Probably because the driver is compressed as a .sit file. The .sit file opens in a text editor. Had to download stuffit expander to get the pkg file out.

Hmmm interesting, if they were printing via AppleTalk or Bonjour then installing a new router shouldn't affect that, unless somehow there is something on the router blocking the AppleTalk or Bonjour communication. AppleTalk and Bonjour are flaky anyway, especially when a wired and wifi network are in operation together. Direct IP is always the best option.
