We just got a Bizhub 350 to replace our previous HP network printer. I have signifigant experience setting up (non-KM) network printers, so I figured this would be a cinch. Unfortunately, I hit a snag right off the bat.
The card in the printer doesn't want to talk. I connected it to my Versalink (Verizon DSL) 327W router and the router's ethernet light did not light up. I enabled DHCP on the Bizhub and tried to connect directly to my laptop. No luck. I couldn't ping its IP address. All Windows and KM PageScope Net Care efforts to detect the printer have failed. I sense a hardware problem here but I'm unfamiliar with KM hardware. I really wish I had an ethernet tester right now.
So this is my setup:
ROUTER/DSL GATEWAY:
Config app: 192.168.1.1
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Wireless Clients: 192.168.1.41, 192.168.1.47
No wired clients at the moment but they work fine.
Bizhub does not register as an attached device (totally missing).
DHCP enabled (static IP for printer made no difference)
Bizhub is hooked up to Ethernet Port 1.

Bizhub 350
IP address: 192.168.1.250
Gateway address: 192.168.10.1
DNS 1: 72.243.0.12 (known to be good)
DNS 2: 72.250.0.12 (known to be good)
DHCP: Disabled
LDAP detection: Tried both off and on (port 369) -- no change
Network controller cable: connected
Cat5 Cable: Known to be good
The above settings have worked fine on numerous network printers.
So I guess this could be the router not recognizing the Bizhub (thus the lack of a status light) or the Bizhub has a dead network card. The odd thing is that there is some life on Ethernet Port 1 (as shown above), which is where the Bizhub is hooked up.
Anything glaring here?
Thanks!
