Canon IR-Adv C7270 custom paper size

Installed new at customer location. They have two odd paper sizes that they use. 8.5 x 13.25 which works fine and also 8.5 x 12.5 which does not work.

Custom sizes were created on computer in the forms so that it can be selected by the driver. Also set up custom sizes on the copier.

Using UFRII driver. All paper size settings set to correct custom size and manual tray select. It give an error which I attached indication that OFI paper is needed.

The 8.5 x 13.25 works fine. Currently as a workaround they are printing to this size and trimming it off.

Also tried a PS3 driver no difference

This was supposed to go into the canon copier forum. Not sure if tapatalk screwed me up or I did it to myself.

I'm done with this call but I will chime in just in case someone else runs into this issue.

Canon wanted me to test on another computer so I had the document on my laptop connected direct with a lan cable and had the same issue. Happens with ufr, pcl or PS. Then they want me to update firmware as it was pretty old but no help.

This paper size 8.5 x 12.5 is just one of those sizes that this model does not want to play nice with. It gives you error of this OFI (Officio) Latin America crazy paper size even though the size settings are set correctly.

So I decided to change the custom size on the copier to 8.5 to 12.4 and also change the custom size on the driver to 8.5 x 12.4. Were still using 8.5 x 12.5 paper and the document's page setup is still configured for 8.5 x 12.5 but the copier doesn't complain for this little difference. I think because I could move it just enough away from this OFI size but not so much that the sensors in the copier doesn't give a size detect error it now a good workaround.

It worked with 12.25 too. 12.45 still gave the OFI error. So I chose 12.4
