MS Word 2007 staple issue on BH C353

Hello

I have came today across a weird one. Client is printing from XP - MS Office 2007 and printing on BizHub C353 + FS519 finisher

I have trouble printing stapled multiple copies of the same document. Let say 3 pages and 10 copies. What it does it will print 3x10 pages but it will staple the whole lot as one big document.

When I convert the Word doc to PDF all is absolutely fine. I can do whatever then 2 sided + Stapled + Cover Page all fine. Even Excel is doing it fine without converting it to PDF.

So, what have I missed in MS Word that I have not in MS Excel.

Firmware R6
Driver 6.3.0 PCL win7 x64

Tried FW R5 and 5.2.0 driver on clients XP x86 ditto the same.

I had a similar experience in the past with Word-2000. It happened only when Word was using "Mail Merge". The solution was to use a macro in Word but I forgot how it was done since it's 5 years ago. Hopefully somebody will jump in with the solution.

I don't know if MS Word is one of them, some word processing have a setting that tells whether copies are controlled by the program (the program spools all copies) or by the printer (the program send the document once and tells the printer how many copies to print).

Thanks, already tried that. But unsure if it was the first (WORD) box or the (Printer Properties Box)...since it was happening on my win7 x64 as well I can easily simulate it in the workshop. SO I will try both variations. Thanks!

Yes it is in advanced of MS Word where you choose whether settings are set by printer or application and it is Use Printer Settings.

Tried this and it works only if you do only:

1-sided stapled
2-sided stapled

if you try :

1-sided stapled + First page to be picked from Bypass under Cover Mode with option PRINT+Tray Bypass Tray then it would just spit it out not stapled.
2-sided stapled + First page to be picked from Bypass under Cover Mode with option PRINT+Tray Bypass Tray then it would the same as the above option so NOT stapled

if you try :

1 or 2 sided whilst using Page Setup in word to pick 1st page from bypass and rest of the pages from tray 1 it will not staple. Plus in 2-sided mode the first page is not 2-sided.

So the hunt for solution is still on if anyone has one bring it on

Ditto..this is a "word" issue, if you leave the collate box checked it overrides the print preferences and staples the whole set. You can get info on this from the readme file that can be found in the driver download. This issues has been popping up for years. Emujo

No they are not.

Ordinary document old or new. Won't work...yet
