Long enough title? Anyways, I am relatively new to this scan to email. Being an independent dealer, there is not much help on this subject. Where I get my machines from, they gave me a way to set this up using a free SMTP server called Post Cast Server. So, I install the software on a computer and tell them they can never turn this computer off or you will have to reset the IP on the copier. Complete the settings in the copier and it works, somewhat. So, they scan the document to an email and the copier sends the document to the computer with Post Cast Server installed and then Post Cast sends the document. I can send to a gmail account and others, but cannot send to a hotmail, swbell etc accounts. I have read about port 25 blocking and even though my ISP here is Swbell, I can still send mail using port 25 to gmail and some others but not to hotmail, swbell and others. It seems to block inbound port 25, not outbound port 25.
Is there a workaround to get my customers up and running again? I have them send me a test email and it works but not to email domains listed above. Is there something I am missing?
I changed the port # on the post cast server on my computer to port 465 (gmail) and it does the same thing. It will not send to the above listed email domains.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Todd
