    n00b Scanrouter V2 lite question

I have a Savin 2535 network copier/scanner and I have installed Scanrouter V2 Lite on a PC and have that functioning. My question is, is it possible to scan to a network share rather than the local drive using this version?

the answer is no, you can only scan to one individual computer

If Scanrouter Lite was installed on Windows 2000 and not installed as a service you would be able to see and use mapped network drives.

      Otherwise no.

DCOM security was improved from XP onwards.

        Scanrouter only sees LOGIN folder

My problem is that when I'm trying to scan to a Windows File, scanrouter sees my mapped drives, for ex. Sys on 'YonkersFS1' F:, but when I click on it, the only folder I see is the LOGIN folder. I'm logged as admin and I see all the folders when I use Windows Explorer.

I had this problem before when we installed scantouer the first time, but I can't remember how it was resolved. The hard drive of the workstation died and I had to install scanrouter in another machine.

        Thanks in advanced.

Some of the older versions (V1?) allowed you to scan to a network share, but good luck finding a disc. Otherwise you have to pony up some money for one of the other versions.

try loading Desktop binder, but only load auto doc link. then setup the destination as save to in tray. use auto doc link to get the file from scanrouter then forward it to a mapped drive. the only problem is that auto doc link cannot run as a service, so the PC would have to be logged on. I know that there are licensing issues, but if you have a small network, i don't think it should matter.

              good luck

Thank you! It works perfectly! We have a big Novell network, having a dedicated computer for this is fine. That is how it was before our previous PC died.
