    Windows 7 SMB Error Fix

Just wanted to follow up and provide the links for the securty Fix to the Windows 7 updates (KB4480970, KB4480960) that caused issues with network shares and SMB scanning. Below are the downloadable link from microsfts update repository. confirming that this fix (KBB4487345) corrects the issues the prior updates caused.

Is there anything similar for Windows 10? Most people have said that simply going into the optional services section of the control panel and re-enabling it will work, but my finding has been that simply reactivating the SMB function in windows doesn't usually seem to resolve the problem.

      Port 445 enabled ?
      Did you try Reboot?

A bit of valid info about port 445 an why it is an open hacker highway into a network.

Windows 10 was not affected by this update, only win7, 8 and server 2008. Bad thing is, if you just remove the original updates the "970" and "960", windows will reinstall it. You have to either turn off updates or put the fix for the fix mentioned above. I lost several hours fighting this on the 11th of the month, then Canon sent out the bulletin about it. The other manufacturers we represent said NOTHING.
