[Misc] Lock symbol upper left side screen. What is this? 3380 series

My only clue is that it may have something to do with share scan. I just got in some off lease 3380 models. A couple have this symbol. On one I did a initialize all user data and still it remained!

Any idea what this is for? How can I clear it off the screen? IMG_20150810_134056.jpg My next action is to format the drive or there is something in the RUI to turn off.

the machine has an encryption kit installed the lock symbol indicates it is operating correctly.

Thanks. HDD erase would be obvious at shut down. My customer will not want this option.

If the HDD Data Encryption Kit is operating normally, the security mark ( LOCK )is displayed
The mark appears when the machine is equipped with an encryption board and the board is operating correctly.
If multiple encryption boards have been installed, the mark indicates that all boards are operating correctly.
Checking the Security Version

1) Press the Counter key (Counter key) on the control panel.
2) Press the [check device configuration] appearing on the control panel.



May have an Encryption Board Kit installed
-Encryption Board 2 pc
-Power cable 2 pc
-Signal cable long 1 pc
-Signal cable short 1 pc
Encryption board has a mechanism to check automatically whether the combination of the encryption board and the HDD encryption key is correct upon installation
of iR system.
If the encryption key is a mismatch, iR machine fails to start up because of reading failure of the HDD data.

To Remove Encryption Board Kit

First you need to set ST-HDCLR to "0" in service mode.
This mode is under service mode level 2 Copier > Option > LCNS-TR.
Use it to display the installation status of the HDD encryption / HDD complete deletion when the transfer function is set invalid.
Setting value:
0: HDD encryption / HDD complete deletion not available (not installed)
1: HDD encryption / HDD complete deletion available (installed)
[Factory default / after Ram Clear : 0]

Then > Remove the Hard Drive Encryption kit and do a Full Format on the Hard Drive; then re-install /Firmware Software on the machine.
