The stopping at half way is a HDD drive related problem.

    tks
    Hi
There is a diagnostic i think its 0 4. Power on.

This does a all boards check.
If anything has failed it will tell you.

1- do u see the progress bar-
    2- if so> how far,
3- or do u have a blank screen
4- did u check--all the keys on the control panel to make sure one was not stuck and all worked normally.
5- Can u boot in download mode
6-Flash PCB (Boot Program) located on Main Controller PCB 1 (FM4-0792-000)
    7-Riser PCB (FM4-0795-000) that connects Main Controller PCB's 1 and 2

8- Remove Fax Kit (if applies) and try a power up if success > re-connect the Fax kit & try boot up again.

9- Remove Print Server connections (if applies) > try a boot up __

After Replacing the Main Controller/s PCB's

CANON > it has been reported from the field that if the machine prompted for multiple shut downs (possibly as many as 4 or 5 times).
After rebooting each time the machine prompted to do so, normal operation resumed.

You are slowly running out with parts. Still remain power supply.Maybe is second disc also bad?! Do you have fax installed? Try with different firmware.

Please try to use a rubber eraser for cleaning on the contact of the PCI Cards and the contact of the RAM.eraser.jpg

    hi,

they mystery continues...i went back first thing and did a diagnostic check and got two errors, SN-19 - PCI bridge?? and SN-9 SDRAM, another tech managed to get the parts out of our office machine and went back to the call, put the Dimms in an still the same, so then installed Main 1 and Main 2 boards and still wont boot. Not sure what happened after that, but will find out tomorrow and keep you all updated...

best way to determine if its a board issue is to do the controller system error diagnosis.

hold down the numbers 2 and 4 on the number pad and turn on the machine. keep holding the keys down until you see BOX checker on the screen

let it do its diagnosis .. at the end you either get a OK or a NG

if its an NG you will get a code .. look up the code and it will point you to which board or part is faulty

    Main 2, I believe
I used to get in service mode on 3220 quickly on boot issues,
As soon as u see progress bar, try quickly a few times ,, during power off\on

are u able to get into service mode to check for any errors listed-

    & try in LEVEL1> COPIER> FUNCTION> SYSTEM> HD-CHECK>0, HD-CLEAR
