Scan to folder IR 3235 Does any body know how to configure scan to folder in a mac computer ?
Network ScanGear will NOT operate on a Macintosh based computer.
So there is no scanning directly from the imageRUNNER-iR to a desktop imaging application (ex. Adobe PhotoShop).
However, there is a workaround:
Please note that this workaround is something that may be tried as a means to accomplish a task that is not officially supported by a utility or driver. The following will work well but please be advised that it is not an official supported process.
To Scan to a Mac you will need to:
1. Setup the TCP/IP protocol on the copier and the Mac.
2. Install the Canon JBIG Viewer utility for Mac.
3. Install Internet Explorer 4.0 or higher on the Mac.
4. Set up mailboxes and load (flash) the Remote User Interface on the copier.
The steps to scan are as follows:
1. At the copier, scan the document(s) into a Mailbox on the imageRUNNER.
2. At the Mac, open Internet Explorer and type in the IP address of the imageRUNNER. This will launch the RUI.
3. Select the option to see the mailboxes and open the mailbox you scanned the original into.
4. Double-Click on the document you want to view and this will open the document in the Canon JBIG viewer.
5. Select File and Save. Save the scan in either JPEG, TIFF or PICT format on the Mac. Please note that different imageRUNNER models may or may not have all file formats. Whatever format you can use to save the document is going to be the format you will have to work with.
6. Open the imaging application you would use to scan and open the file you just saved.
