Hi all,

I have attached an image of what the machine is doing. There is a distinct white line from lead edge to trail edge on A4 or A3. Looks like it's closer to the rear.
I have replaced the Fixing roller, fixing belt and external heating roller(this had multiple scratches from the thermistors). The transfer belt was replaced because of an imperfection and relative wear & tear. So that can't be an issue. Also checked the general items as well that cause this.

Any ideas on what the problem could be?

I agree - probably cyan developer - sometimes I have luck running the contaminate out with 20 solid colors prints - usually just cut my losses and dump the developer. contaminant could be as minimal as paper trim dust from poorly trimmed stock - bigger concern to me would be the bands of varying density going the other direction - that looks like gear wear that will get continually worse - usually most visible on cyan as the human eye perception is most acute in the blue range.

If you have line on all colors on PG-10 it's grid.On one colour it's developer.Simple?

Thanks for all the responses guys! It turns out it was that little thin slip glass inside the machine that had a tiny bit of fluff/hair on it. I don't know why Canon decided to use that, it's pretty useless. The machine would work just fine without it

It was occurring on all colours that's why I knew it wasn't developers. The grid had also recently just been replaced as well.

So, literally did an overhaul on this machine as the customer was having major issues that just kept piling up and never got resolved. We managed to get rid of all the actual errors now. Just minor things now with getting quality right and jamming on A4 from the trays only.

Regarding the varying density lines, this occurs across the board on all colours and has always been like that. I even have an almost brand new C1+(less than 5,000 pages) in my showroom and it doesn't produce the quality it should either. Is this not just a limitation on the machine and the old-ish technology??

Now, it has started to do something else I've never seen before. On double sided printing, it skews the image considerably on the 2nd page but there are no signs that it's getting caught anywhere, not even jamming! It gets worse after every consecutive print. This is from the Stack Bypass and using 170gsm coated paper. Works fine on my C1+ but the client's isn't good. I'll attach a copy for you to see.20150924193103.pdf

The ITB is new. Just replaced last week and done less than 50 prints.
