    Canon IR C5250

My customers machine has been getting intermittent E014 (fixing motor error) which then becomes more frequent over a period of time and use (1 week and 5- 10K pages). After that it is a down machine with the error E014 every print. I replaced the fuser film assembly each time but the code comes back in 25k again and the same pattern begins again. We have replaced the fuser film assembly for the second time and it has just had the code come back after 2 months and approx the 25K of printing since the fuser film was replaced. I also replaced the fuser drive motor months ago just in case it was the drive motor. Replacing the fuser film assembly puts the machine back in operation for a short window of 25K but something else is definitely causing this error.

Any help would be much appreciated and thank you in advance.

Make sure u are not receiving voltage drops at outlet, check for proper ground between Netural & Ground_ 0v +/- 0.5v.

      Clock Motors need specific voltage.

I would add also try the DC Cont.

I installed a line conditioner Thursday 9/24 with monitor to see if we are recording any power faults. I will follow up on if the machine is still giving codes. I am also looking into the fuser drive. Thanks for all the replies.

I replaced the fuser drive assembly when I arrived today and it jammed shortly afterward see below. No change with the drive assembly.

I have been told the machine has been jamming lately. It was running slow just before it would jam. Then more of the same slow running with a jam and then you get code E014. I witnessed it for the first time today, running slow. I placed 2 originals in feeder and wanted 15 copies. The machine ran the first 2 or 3 sets ok, then it slowed down with slow movement of paper while still copying. (5 copies per minute in speed when slow and no jam at first for a few pages) The status on the bottom of the display gave a message indicating where it was with the job "printing" "07/15 001 minutes to complete" ... this is because it was at set 7 of 15 copies. It jammed after running a few pages in the slow mode within the set of 15. I cleared the jam and it recovered where it left off and completed the job at normal speed. Strange!

The JAM Code for this jam was 0CF1. The history of recent jam codes before this event today are the following 0A01, 010A, 0107, mostly 0107 with a few 010A.

It appears the E014 is a condition after it gets a jam fault of the same type again.

Thanks for your help in advance!

If not the Fixing Drive Assy as Canuck suggested then check the free movement of the Fuser Cooling Fan F7 (behind Fixing Unit) - bushings can be lubed with light oil.

I have not had any E009 codes. The solution currently looks to be back to the replacing the upper fixing assembly, oem Canon only. I tried 2 different aftermarket assemblies both from the same place and both worked for 8 weeks approx. Thanks for all the help I received.
