    IRADVC5030 Black copy problems

Machine makes black streaks but also faded on solids. Drum has solid toner bars all around it.
I tried drum unit and it did the same thing. I replaced the developer with the newest part available from
Canon. Same problem returned a week later. It acts as if it has the wrong toner installed but I verified it
has genuine Canon toner. Anyone heard of this problem?

Have you cleaned or checked the laser unit?

I cleaned the laser but then replaced it with one out of a working machine. I checked and made sure pre-exposure lights were operating.

I switched process units that has good drums and after running several copies it started again. Again only on black. I took apart the black

drum unit and found a large amount of toner in the auger section. Not sure if this was because of the toner being formed on the drum or

if there is a clog somewhere in the waste toner section. We have had these machines out for a long time and I have never seen anything like

      it.

Never seen anything like. Can be controller issue but i suspect drum grounding or arching.Check for ATR control and patch sensors values.

You definately do NOT have genuine oem Toner in the Hopper or the previous toner was not oem - cost us thousands to find out - oem 45/46 toner comes with the bottle in a plastic sleeve OPEN on BOTH ends & NOT a plastic BAG also has NPG 45 or 46 printed on the Bottle ........without scratch/scrape marks around it, replacing the Developer Unit with a new one is the only way out .... BUT ........ first you need to vacuum the Hopper unit &/or run a heap of A3 skyshots with at least a 50mm blank border (to minimise jams) - ensure genuine toner installed, then Dev unit & new Drum unit.
