    [Misc] imagePRESS C800

I have this refresh roller on the upper fixing belt assembly that is filthy as with what appears to be hardened toner. On fixing count, this refresh roller is %93 percent. I have received the part number for this part (it wasnt in the parts catalog) FL3-7635. Tech support are not too forth coming with the procedure to change this.
I need to know the replacement procedure for this refresh roller as there is no procedure in the service manual. And I dont want to wreck the joint just going in with no instructions.

Removing the Fixing Belt Unit + Fixing Refresh Roller Pressure Unit

dont' forget to clear Refresh Roller counter COPIER>COUNTER>FIXING>FX1-RFRL

The fixing roller is refreshed automatically after several prints. You can adjust the frequency and the time used for each refresh cycle. If toner adheres to the roller, this setting may be used to clean it automatically.

    1) Press [Additional Functions].

    2) Press [System Settings].

    3) Press [Device Management Settings].

    4) Press [Fixing Roller Auto Refresh Level].

    5) Press [+] or [-] to adjust the level for refreshing the fixing roller.

    6) Press [OK].

Thanks for the replay mate. I have looked at this on my own ver.3 service manual and it only shows how to remove the pressure unit. Not the actual white refresh roller.

The refresh roller pressure unit is attached to a plate that sits on top of the refresh roller. I can see the refresh roller. So close, yet so far. I cant experiment with the new upper belt assembly we have because I dont want to ruin it. I think I might just have to wait until the one in use craps out so I can have a little play.

I believe this FM0-1385-010/ PLATE ASS'Y, REFRESH PRESSURE

has the refresh roller attached & shows no part # ?

looks as if the Bearings and clips are holding in refresh roller ???
& #3 is the flag that blocks Refresh Engagement/Disengagement HP Sensor
M55 is the Refresh Engagement/Disengagement Motor

who told u that the roller can be replaced separately from plate assembly ??
have not see a separate # for that refresh roller anywhere---who gave it to u ??

Good day teckat. Tech support have given me the part number for the refresh roller. It is true that there is no part number for the refresh roller in the parts catalog.
I have followed this procedure. And as you can see in the last picture there is still no refresh roller attached when that section is tilted up. Refresh roller sits underneath that remaining plate in the last photo.
The bearings and clips actually hold the cams on each end.

                Ok, See what u mean,
So on a belt replacement u probably need to see how to remove it.

On parts fig 811 #17 list as cleaning unit _?

Funny you should mention that part #17 fig 811. FM1-D437-000 CLEANING ROLLER UNIT. I ordered that part and the upper fixing belt as a back up and I thought that this cleaning roller was the refresh roller. It wasnt. Its the fluffy cleaning roller that sits behind the refresh roller. I think it cleans the refresh roller.
I will try and post something up when and if I am able to replace this mysterious refresh roller. Tech support claim you can. But still cant seem to show me a procedure.

Did you ever get an answer regarding this? I took a look at the parts catalog on canon.ca - looks like the same issue.

I assume they expect you to replace that fuzzy roller often to reduce wear on the refresh roller until you have to replace the upper belt? Looks like that's the only way to replace the refresh roller is to replace the entire fuser assembly.
