    IR1023 System Error E019

E019 usually means the waste toner is full and usually changing the drum solves it. Not this time.

The manual says to clean or replace the waste toner full sensor. I tried that with no luck. I tried D.C. Controller

and that didn't help. I tried an Image Processor PCB and still no change. With the drum installed in the machine

and the waste toner full sensor free, I blocked and unblocked the sensor to see if there was any change. With it unblocked

the copier says to insert the drum unit. With it blocked it gives the E019 error. Guess it could be wiring to the Image Processer>?

    imageRUNNER 1023 / 1025 series

E019 error code cannot be cleared.

The solution to E019 involved reforming and re-seating one of the bias contacts that the drum uses.
The cover panel that surrounds the toner container has to be removed in order to access this area. Once the panel is removed, the bias contacts can be seen.
The bias contact for this issue has a black wire and white connectors (check red arrows below).
The bias contacts can also be checked with a continuity test. In some cases, a poor drum bias contact was believed to have caused this issue.
Check that the inner bias contact is not flattened. After re-seating the connections, the issue may be resolved. Check the images below for reference.

Thanks...I found a broken contact as shown on that image. Old machine. Brittle plastic.
