[Misc] IR 2870 Network upgrade issues

We are mainly Sharp, HP, Ricoh and Kyocera. A school we service has a Canon IR 2870. They wanted to network. It required and extra memory or rom board in the rear. That is installed. Set the IP etc. but unable to ping.

QUESTION. Is there some additional software or special steps required. We do have the basic service and parts manual for this series but did not find particulars when upgrading from non Networked to networked.
Any help greatly appreciated. We are under somewhat of a pressure from customer to let them know what is required.

When you upgrape from non network to network ,you must have "N" Bootrom and extral 256 ram.
