Canon iR 1435if and toner bottle problem

    Hello All,

Is anyone out there experiencing problems loading the GPR54 toner bottle into the new iR1435 copiers. We are having issues loading the bottle on every one of these machines. When you insert the toner bottle and rotate it counter clockwise it only goes as far as the "black" locking tab. When you close the front door sometimes you hear a "pop" sound and the bottle will have slightly rotated even further clockwise into the correct position (over top of a small grey tab)

Other times when you load the bottle and close the door, there will not be a "pop" sound and the machine will indicate that the toner is not genuine (because the bottle hasn't rotated far enough to read the conmtacts on the bottle). If you open the door at this point, you will notice that the bottle is still in the same position (has not moved forward over the grey tab)

So far this is happening on all of our 1435s. Canon seems to be pretty quiet about it. Anyone else experience this or anything listed about this issue on the esupport (USA) website? Nothing listed here on Canon Canada service site.

Copier has version 2.01 for firmware.

    Thanks,

Re: Canon iR 1435if and toner bottle problem

      Thanks for the input, Ernesto.

There is not a whole lot of info about this ye but we did find a bulletin from December 21st/2015. Unfortunately none of the info applied to our machines in the field. It seems as thought when installing the bottle, it is looked in one position, and once the machine goes through initial rotation, it advances the bottle to the second position (which is the correct position). You CANNOT manually force the bottle into this second position when installing it.

The problem that we are experiencing seems to be that the machine is not advancing the bottle during initial rotation. I have attached the bulletin but if anyone has access to Canon USA esupport and can find updated info, that would be greatly appreciated.

So far we have had 10 service calls generated on this product requiring us to drive to the customer site and help them install toner cartridges because of this issue.

Thanks again in advance to anyone that can help with this issue.
