    IR2020 Locks up

Customer complained that the copier would not copy. No error codes. It just sat there. She had added new paper and had the size guides on the cassette out of

position. I corrected that and rebooted the copier and it copied just fine. She called this morning and said it was not working again. I found that the bottom cassette lift

plate was not coming all the way up. Reshaped the tabs and resolved that, but still had to reboot for it to work. Just weird that it will not give any kind of message or

error code. If it happens again I asked her to clear whatever copy job she has that's waiting to copy and retry it. Never seen anything like this before.

This all started, she said, when she started using paper that was donated them. I couldn't find anything wrong with the paper.

Anyone ran into a problem like this?

Control Panel is locked up. The display shows normally but the buttons are non-responsive.

problem can be caused by a faulty Fax Panel PCB. To determine if this is the problem, the optional Fax Panel can be disconnected by unplugging the flat cable (highlighted below in red) between it and the Operation Panel PCB. The machine should work normally with this cable removed.

*Note* This issue only pertains to the non-"i" models with an optional Fax Kit installed.

Machine Locks Up, When Receiving a Print Job

It was noticed that when the network cable was disconnected the machine worked fine.

An incorrect driver was loaded on the workstation.
Removing the incorrect driver and loading the correct driver resolved the issue.

All buttons on the touch screen and control panel function.
Pushing on the start button will lock up all buttons and functions of the touch screen.

Replacing the IP Board Resolved this Problem.

Many times, just cleaning around the edges of all the plastic buttons solves this... They simply get mechanically jammed on.... that prevents any other button to function and the machine appears jammed.
