Canon IRA C2020 and C5035 Says Load Paper on Print Jobs

    Hi Guys,
Here is another odd problem...Two machines, different customers, one is a C2020 and the other is a C5035.
When the customer sends a print job, the machine says beeps and says "load paper".
Now, when you hit the status/monitor buttor and press O.K. on the screen, it will start printing...has anyone ever seen this?
    Thanking you in advance ,
    Doug

Where is this print job coming from_?

Example; e-Mails, Apps, _ what print driver is having issue_?

Check Paper Source" option in Driver

When printing from Microsoft Word, the application picks up the default paper settings of the default printer on your system. Therefore, when you select the paper source in the driver only, the application setting will override the print driver settings.
To Print from the Correct Paper Source:

        1. In Microsoft Word, go to File > Page Setup.

        2. Select the Paper Source tab.

        3. On this tab, select the paper source you wish to print from. If you want Word to use the source specified in the print driver being used, select Default tray (AUTO). Using Default tray (AUTO) will prevent Word from overriding the source selected in the print driver. Click OK.

Note - If you do not see the correct paper source options listed, you will need to set the Canon Device as your default printer.
To do this, go to Start > Settings > Printers and highlight the Canon device, right click and select 'Set as Default'.

        4. In Word, select File > Print. On the Print dialog box, choose the printer to be used and select the 'Properties' button. This will bring up the driver screen, where you can select your paper source.

        5. After your Paper source is selected, click OK twice to print your document.

I get that service call all the time. The replies are correct. Check you document properties. Make sure it is on auto and the correct paper size is in machine. I have people telling me they don't want to check each document. If not you have to go to machine and select the correct size. I get one or two calls a month that say "it says load paper but has paper in it". If the icon on the display looks like a printer then that is it. If it says 1, 2, 3, or 4 in front of the load paper it is the tray is empty. Easy call but most people do not know computers or page properties well.

I see this a lot in Canada with engineering accounts. A lot of A4 and A3 documents...help to have "paper size override" set to on. This will auto size A-sizes to LTR and LDG.

You can find it in the printer settings at the machine level.

settings/reg > function settings > printer settings > custom settings > paper feed > paper size override

            Working...
