On the media menu there are some details and one of them is "Cutting Mode".

Obviously smb switched it to "Manual Cutting".

Did u check for any fault codes _?

Step 1: check to see if there is any open work or program, if so save them in order to avoid loss of important information. And then, go to Start and Turn off Computer to shut down your computer.

Step 2: press power button of your Canon imagePROGRAF iPF9000s to turn your printer off. Unplug it from electrical outlet.

Step 3: keep your printer at off mode for several minutes, during which the memory will lose.

Step 4: plug your Canon imagePROGRAF iPF9000s back into electrical outlet and turn on it and turn on the computer. Now, the printer memory has been cleared.
=:O > Remember that only by turning off and on your printer can not clear your printer because there is still electricity running through the cord connected to the wall outlet. You need to pull the plug out.

                      Try this:

Re load the paper and choose "coated" as paper type.

Than go "Menu / Paper cut" to cut a strip of paper.

                      See what happens

                        Re: IPF 9000S

                        Hi all,
I am having this same problem with an iPF8400:

I have updated the firmware to the latest but it made no difference at all. @Teckat the error code I am getting(last 4 digits) is 2019.
This machine is one of those that has the cutter blade on the carriage unit, it has been replaced but still the same error comes up. Interesting too, even if the cutter is removed when set to load the paper it does go through the motions but the error still comes up.

Does this machine have a cutter home position sensor? I cannot find anything in the manual that shows it.

Just to clarify, the error shows up when loading roll paper, I followed all the instructions on the screen. The machine checks the size and width of the paper and you can see the multi-sensor working (LED lights etc) then as the carriage goes back the paper moves back but not into the print position as per the original logger of this fault has said.

I tried to load manual paper as well but that wasn't even working at all, the carriage only went half way across the A4 OR A3 sheet and didn't even try to check the size etc.

Can anyone shed some light on this please?? Not sure what else to try next apart from replace Main controller..

                        Thanks in advance

                        Ben

U receive message --can not cut paper ?????

The Flex cable sends the signals from the carriage assembly to the Main Pcb.
Replacing the Flex Cable ( QM4-8312-000 ) may resolve the issue.
