    Canon IR8105 E197-0008

Has anyone had to change the fuser draw harness (3ft long with approx 22 connectors and runs through the whole draw assembly) and could it be done without completely removing the draw assembly from the copier? This harness looks difficult to change.

Can the draw stay on the rails and be disassembled?

The machine has a code E197-0008 related to the draw connectors (Copier and Draw). The rear connector was pushed back and stuck (springs issue on this connector) then the draw connector didn't line up and both were damaged.

Any info would be very helpful and appreciated. Thank You!!

Yes, it can be dissembled while on the rails, but it is much easier done if removed. The drawer extends your a few extra inches when latches are pushed in on both sides. I have replaced this harness and it is time consuming-about 2 hours the first time.

No need to replace wire harness if wires are not damaged. Just replace the connector. Have not done it on that model but on 7260 fuser comes out of drawer. The back connector is the worst one on 7260. I have been lucky with my 8105's.
