Canon IR3300 Two Faint Noticeable Lines on Printing

Using a Canon IR3300 at one end of the page two faint but noticeable lines are printed on each page. What do you suggest I try to fix this problem? Thanks.

Mate, first of all you need to eliminate the optics. Do the lines appear when you Copy and when you print? Are the lines in the feed direction? Have you tried another drum? Are you familiar with iR3300s ? Give us some more info and we'll help you out,

    Cheers Andy

Ditto what the other oz said...
It could be one of a hundred causes...a score line around the drum...a pubic hair on the mirror...white-out on the scan glass and the list goes on

Thanks. The lines appear when I copy and when I print. On a normal print the lines are on the shorter side of the page, but on a rotated print it comes out down the long side.

I haven't tried another drum and I don't have much familiarity with the IR3300s.

The lines are a little apart.

I don't believe the lines appear when I scan documents in to computer.

The photocopier has done under 100,000 pages.

Sounds like the drum unit then.
          Are you a Tech?
If so then trial a new drum unit...nothing to lose as long as the marks haven't been caused by something jammed in the machine like a staple...putting a new drum into that situation will ruin the new drum as well.
If you're a customer then the drum is covered under your maintenance contract...if you have no contract then you're up for around $500 for the drum + labour/travel charges.

And I was hoping that after getting a printer board installed that fixing this printing problem would be something else that didn't really need a tech to do. Oh well, I guess I'll have to put up with the poor printing until a tech is next needed unless somebody has some suggestions of things I could try.

I don't particularly like getting a tech to come out when something can be fixed easily by a layman.

It may also be worth getting the tech to check for a staple or other junk around the developing roller as well as the drum like the others have said.

Are the line in the same place??? to check fold the piece of paper with the lines down the short side in half across the page and the piece with the lines down the long side in half down the page. Line up the two folds, if the lines on the copies are lined up it is either the drum or dev unit, if they don't then it's back to the drawing board?!?
