What is the procedure for replacing the SATA Flash on these machines?
The original complaint is when the machine is turned on, the screen is black with the power light on.
Went through the procedure in the manual for checking what is at fault, noticed that the LED on the SATA flash does not turn on, although LED 8 on the main controller 1 does.


No codes come up.

I ask because Canon says it is a non serviceable part and warn that it is one of the boards that must remain with the native machine at all times.

The serial number is not affected by the Data Erase Kit C-1 problem that Canon had either.


I have ordered a new Main Controller 1, just in case.

Solution :
You will need to format new Flash PCB before installing SSW.

[1] : Formatting the Flash PCB
The Flash PCB is not formatted in service work. If there is a problem in the system, solve the problem by performing a remedy
according to the error code or replacing the Flash PCB.
Please note that only minimum system files are installed in a Flash PCB supplied as a service part. It is therefore necessary to
install (download) the system files using the SST/USB memory when replacing the Flash PCB.

[2]: FLASH Format
1) Connect the USB memory storage device to the USB port with this models SSW
2) Enter safe mode by holding 2 & 8 keys at power up
3) Select Flash Format by following steps below
[4] - [2] - [0]: Execute format/ any key other than [0]: Return to the menu screen
Formatting is executed when the power is turned ON the next time. The message showing data initialization and wait time are
displayed.
