I'm assuming that you've re-entered all the applicable values back into the reader pcb fresh, not backed up and imported back from service mode. Updated and overwrite all firmware?
I have replaced the Flat cable, exchanges the reader board and the CCD unit cleared up for about a week then the
error E-0248-001 comes back
You could try Rcon backup. Then do a Rcon clear, turn off and on then put the values under the cover of the reader controller back in. You can always do a Rcon restore if that does not work. Possible one of your parts swapped out is bad but I think unlikely. I hate problems like that! Hope you fix it. I got this idea off canon website, have not had this yet. There is also a flaky cable going from reader controller to main controller that fixed one machine (4235) with a different code.
