Hello all friends ..l have problems ...canon mf4730 if l started this mf it have this error message : DOWNLOAD MODE ...Waiting . pls help .

I don't know if you can get software for this machine but the smaller canons get this message and updated software fixes it sometimes. I just fixed a ir1023 with this message. Otherwise you need the main controller or sometimes the board that goes in main controller. It won't go away. Sometimes the boards have a jumper you can short to try and fix it but I don't know where it is on this machine. Usually it is where you can get to it with back cover off.

turn off printer and unplug power cord...keep the ON button on printer pressed for 10 sec. wait for 2 mins. plug in power cord and turn on printer
may get lucky---------------------

- If using the fax functions, disconnect the telephone line from the main unit.
- Configure your computer settings so that it will not enter sleep mode before performing the firmware update.
- If the device is connected via USB cable, disconnect the LAN cable.
- If using a USB connection, do not connect the device through a USB hub as doing so may result in connection errors.
- If the device is connected via LAN cable, disconnect the USB cable.
- Do not print, etc. while the firmware is being updated.
- For devices with wireless LAN support, update over wireless LAN is possible. However, depending on wireless signal conditions, the update may not be able to complete. If this occurs, update the firmware using a USB or LAN connection.
- If a critical error occurs (the device will not start after turning on the power, etc.), repairs will be required.
- For devices with fax functionality, it is recommended that you print out the Address Book information (one-touch, coded dialing, and group dialing) before updating, due to the possibility of power outages or other unforeseen accidents during the update operation.

Look inside front cover, or on outside of unit,
it's somewhere on it.
