    Encrypted ift files

Is there anyway we can fit aftermarket hdd to IR2570 if its not listed as a genuine Canon part?
We are quite used to editing the ift files for the IR2200 etc models but as this file is now encrypted I don't know what to do.

I think you may mean an iR2270?
iRC2570 is basically an iRC3100 with minor changes and easily modified .ift files.
I DO know that the iR2270/3570/4570 range do have the encrypted .ift files and i've only ever had to replace a HDD once in the past four years and can't remember the work around.
I think, from memory, that we replaced the drive with an identical model bought elsewhere.
    It MUST be 80gig too.

After Market HDs for most Canon Copiers

      Canon WM2-5216-000: Hitachi 20gig - HTS541020G9AT00 or this is the same drive - (13G1581)

Will work in the following Image Runners and maybe others - I haven't updated this in about a year

      85 105 2230 2270 2830 2870 3025 3030 3035 3045 3530 3570 4570 5070 5570 6570 8070 9070

      Canon WM2-5222-020: Hitachi 40gig - HDS728040PLAT20 or this is the same drive - (0A30209)

Will work in the following Color Image Runners and maybe others - I haven't updated this in about a year

      ir60 85 105 550 600 5000 5020 6000 6020 7200 8500 irC3100 3200 3220 5800 6800

Canon is over $300, BUT you can find them on the Internet for less that $50 with 1-3 year warranty
