You can't!!! it is held in the counter board and these are at least 10-12 years old.

Absolutely correct. You can not reset copy count counters on a Canon (any Canon from Ir series on) without disabling the copier.

Its being done in India. We have to send the board and they make it 0 by programming attaching it to another machine. I just wanted to know how its done. And I will tell you once I with be abl to do it..

You all are blaming me for no reason.. We don't get new machines here. We use to sell Refurbished machine that were previously used in USA. All our customers are aware that they are refurbished and we tell them too as its not available here. But sometimes on customer's demand we reset counters to 0.
