    IR8500 finisher

    Hi
Have 8500 finisher with 1129 jam code . I have replaced belt and gear tension unit in front of punch waste container. Only get it when going to second tray . Could one of the solnoids be causing this. Thanks for any hints on this jam code. I don't has access to database.

    This is what I found
    Problem :

    1129 Jam Code

    Solution :

It has been found that bushings FS5-6657-000, item number 9, and XG9-0362-000, item number 11, on the Sort Guide Assembly can become worn or dirty resulting in 1129 jam codes. Clean or replace as necessary.

    Problem :
    Jam code 1129

    Solution :
Stationary jam at lower path sensor S3. It has been found that a shaft and bearing wear out. The shaft is located next to item 79, bearing, on page Q30-3. The part number for the shaft is FB5-9090-000 and the bearing is XG9-0403-000.

    Hope this helps at all.

Take a good look at the sensor right after the paper goes down from upper path. Had one where the actuator was catching on the guide plate.

Thanks for the tip. They have been running 11x17 paper all day so have to wait for 8 1/2 x 11 job. I have replaced the sort swing assmy ( fg6-7500-000 ). Will check the sensor and bushing in the sort area. Had one of the bushings go bad and make a lot of noise but did not jam. Will get back with what i find.

        Thanks Again

          Hi,
Got a chance to work on the 1129 again and found that the shaft that drives the knurled belts was the problem. The rear bearing retainer for shaft ( Q30/1 - 81) was jumping out. Replaced bearing and did old safety wire around the retainer trick. The trick to finding it was to liftup the sort swing assmy (fg6-7500-000 )and turn fs5-0677-000 and check for binds and up and down motion. Seems so easy once you found it!!!! Thanks to all that helped .
