That's what it is if the code is E-100. Probably the plastic pin on the primary duct(that grey thing you remove to pull out the primary corona assembly) has broken off or the corner of the duct is broken. This pin opens the laser shutter and could be the cause. Something to look at....

Do you have the images of the pin to open the shutter? I got a problem this error

Open front door. Gray fan box in front right held on by 3 screws. 1 in upper left, 2 on right. Remove 1 connector. You can wiggle it out but it comes out easier if you also remove the 4 screws and take off the toner supply cover. Pin should be on back of gray box. Part # is FC6-3540-000
