    Canon IR 5070 finisher error

Had a 5070 kicking out E 540 codes and other strange 500 series codes. Upon arrival I removed the trash can that they had inadvertantly placed under the finisher. The copier cleared up and ran. Now the display says "Unable to use finisher". There are no additional codes. The racks will not move up and down. The rollers spin to deliver the copies. It will not staple or move bins up and down. I checked and reloaded staples to make sure that wasn't the issue. Any way to reset the error code or get the bins moving up or down. I did move the bins by hand to see if it would look for home position, but it did not. This is the large finisher with moving stapler, not saddle stitch.

It is most likely in limited function mode. Somewhere in additional functions, maybe admin modes. Maybe someone else knows exactly where it is. It needs to be off and then machine turned off and on. Nice feature, allows you to make copies but bins won't move nor will it staple/hole punch until it is turned off.

Thank you Dan 7777. It did infact put itself in limited function mode after the trash can event. It was in screen 6/7 of Common mode.

      Thanks again.
