    Crooked lines

    Hi guys,
Have anyone come across this? beside adjusting the mounting screw on the right, are there any adjustments to be done?
I have checked the manual and need to key in the set of numbers in the front cover(locked by 2 screws).
It seems that this is a replacement feeder.
Is there any auto adjustment i can do for this error?
Its really very crooked and customer is frustrated...
Pls kindly assist and thanks all!

you do not mention the model machine you are working on, and anyone who would be inclined to provide you assistance would need to know that.

Looking at the pic you are posting it appears to be a network data list. Are you printing that page out and then making a copy of it and that is where the image issue is occuring?

If it happening on prints then you have a laser issue.

if it just occuring when making copies through the DADF then you have an issue with the alignment of your DADF or the drive system
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

How could i align my DADF?
      Thank you..

The height adjustment screw should fix that, check for any crap on the slit glass.

The glass is clean. In fact if i switch another Adv series feeder on top, it works fine.
Just this particular DADF give me crooked like. older IRC has no this issues.
I have 3 advance DADF with this same issues and as always, we change the DADF.

When you said height adjustment screw, do you mean the top adjustment screws or the screws below the dadf?
attached and thanks for the advice.

Wondering if there is any small bits of paper or bent mylar in the feeder, as that's the only issue I've had to cause that on those feeders. I'd check over the jam codes and see if there isn't something in the path causing the page to be scanned unevenly.

I agree with this. If you look at the side and it is even then you need to dig into the doc feeder before or at the point it goes across the scan glass. I have had another model where I had to adjust the height for a problem like this.

I know for sure this issue is hardware related.

We had this happen on a machine and we had another C5030 we were tossing out. I swapped all the boards and tried RCON clear, firmware update..everything. It's definitely something in the feeder...basically what we ended up doing was swapping the DADF (like you say) and the other machine was heading for recycling anyway so we tossed the busted DADF on that one.

Haven't had it since, but curious to know what happens. We figured it was probably something bent, or damage from a staple/paperclip that was hauled out of the machine.

Strangely enough the time we had this issue I could still see the problem (but almost not visible) when using the platen glass - that's why we tried the scanner and boards...no change.
