    Canon IR1435 Set up Problems

    I can only find one other thread about these copiers. This is the second one I have had a lot of trouble getting set up.

    The last one I had, I got it working by reinstalling the drum unit quite a few times before it finally initialized properly.

    It goes to the toner startup and runs then says bad cartridge or non oem toner was installed. It runs then gives that

    message. Or it stops and if I hit ok it says job in progress.

    Anything new out about these machines?

    may be the toner bottle is not in the right position, you can check if the toner bottle has been rotated to the end. I suppose all the seals in the developer unit has been removed...

      There is a firmware update for this issue. you can update these machines via the internet in the system management settings or with UST (no I don't provide firmware)

        I have the UST but I cannot get into the menu settings while it's stuck in this toner error situation. The drum never goes through its initialization when the power is turned on. It goes right to the toner part of the setup and will not get past that. When I had another machine I got it going by taking the drum in and out a bunch of times and finaling got it to go. It acts like the drum isn't being recognized. Catch 22 here.

                Okay, I took the toner cartridge out and in 4 times then it decided to work. Will update the software and go from there.
