Same IP on a network can give unpredictable errors, there's no way to say what might happen. all depends on wich machine answers or responds first, how dump or smart the machine that has the IP adres is, how oftern both are used or are "On" or even on the network. etc. Worst case one of em is a mobile device and the other a dump, passive machine...

The server will do nothing in detecting it. If it's a DHCP server it will only take care of the IP's in it's pool, not the ones outside. And still, you can have a static IP on yoour printer and have the DHCP server giving it to a PC, phone or laptop if it's not excluded.

Re: Print error message using Word

I resolved this issue. I discovered there was an IP Conflict on the network with the IP address of the Copier.

The copier was initially loaded onto the customers server. I guess I am surprised that their server didn't indicate

a conflict. The conflict was the cause of the print error and very slow response time to print jobs. The

odd part is that when we would do test prints from the Printer Properties it would print without any error

and without any delay. Hope this helps someone. Thanks for the suggestions!!

I tried that setting and it didn't change anything. Weird problem because it doesn't give that error on test prints.

Is Auto Continue what you are referring to as far as skip error? Asking because I don't see a skip error choice under custom settings

    Print error message using Word

I set up printing for a customer who is using Windows 8 with a Canon IRADVC5051. It prints okay except

when they first send a print job from Word or Excel they get an error message on their computer screen that

says Print Error to IRADVC5051. If they close that error box and hit print again it prints fine. Any print

jobs after that they don't get that message until the next time they open Word and send a print job.

Test pages from printer properties print just fine. Tried different drivers and that had no effect.

I swapped Main Controller 1 and the harddrive from a good machine and there was no change.

It isn't only on Word as it does it with Adobe Reader and other programs. I updated software and

tried yet another print driver and it made no difference.

They have a Canon IRC3080 at the same office and do not have

this problem when they print to it.
