    Canon IR2270 Firmware download after error E0744

    Hie all
    I have an error code E0744 on a IR2270 after i changed the Boot Rom. The reason for changing it was because the control panel would not show anything else except black "smudged" image. According to the manual, that error code appears because there is a language file missing in the firmware. So now im trying to down load software but i seem to be failing again as i keep getting an error message which says "Set up file (DLM10.ini) read error occured. Check to make sure that program and driver have been properly installed" Please help, i must be doing something wrong....

    Crossover cable check
    Boot in download mode check
    Configure laptop ip addres to range 172. 16.1.100 check
    Start up SST check
    Register firmware check

      are you 100% certain you have the correct model boot rom installed in your 2270? The incorrect model boot rom will cause this issue.
      What is your subcode as well?

      Also you were describing the screen as smudged on the control panel. Was it booting all the way up with a blurry image?

          E0744-2000 is the full error code. The control panel boots up with the Canon logo appearing well with the loading bar appearing well. Then when its supposed to show the home screen thats when it smudges up.

              this could be several things, one of which is the boot rom. It could also be your main controller, HDD or the RAM on the machine. I have seen all 3 cause issues with boot up of the copier.

              The E744-2000 is saying the engine ID is illegal. Did you only swap the boot rom? There is a SN and counter board as well that should stay with the machine at all times

                  The counter board is the correct one. When I change the counter board it gives me E0245. When I change the Boot Rom it gives me E0744-2000. When I put back the original things it just goes back to the original problem where it doesn't finish booting up but control panel just gives a smudged image. I haven't tried the main controller or RAM yet.

                      there is a Seial Number board that is married to that counter board. They must stay together. What machine did you get the other counter and boot rom from?
