Ensure the stack tray hasn't gone beyond upper limit. Lower tray down manually and restart.

there is an opening on the under side of the tray in the rear corner. You can use your finger or a small flatblade to push the gear gently toward the front of the copier to release it and lower it down.

Chances are you need to split the finisher and put everything back to home position. I'd also be upgrading firmware. These finishers can get out of position after a jam. Check to see if the gripper is moving forward enough to allow the stapler to move to home position on boot up. You can remove the inner covers of the finisher and defeat the door switches for observation.

yeah, these little finishers can jump track and get out of alignment rather quickly. Like roho said, you are going to have to remove it from the machine and pull the top off of it so you can get the fingers for paper eject, stapler and everything else back into alignment. Take your time though. Its all plastic and can be frustrating as hell when working on it.
