    E227-0001 C2880

I have a customer with a C2880, the copier said replace waste toner, so she ordered one online and put it in and the machine is giving her a E227-0001. This error is a first with me on this model, book says Power Supply error in the reader unit, is there something other than replacing the power supply I should try?

normally it is the DC voltage missing. Get your meter out and check the power supply outputs. The customer installing the waste box really has nothing to do with error.

The main power source is getting 115v, the reader unit is getting 0. There are numerous power supply pcbs, but the diagram looks like the reader unit gets power from the Controller Power Supply, is that correct?

you have to go to the main power supply. The 24v DC is not being produced when you turn the copier on and that is why the machine is throwing an error. If there is no power at the power supply, then it needs repair or replacing.

I've fixed that error code be re-seating the connection on the 2 ribbon cables from the reader to the MC PCB.

I don't see ribbon cables on the Main Controller. The DC controller has several, is that what I'm suppose to be looking at? We replaced the main controller power supply FG3-3843, but same problem.

I am sorry! For some reason I was thinking advance, not just IR. I downloaded the service manual for the 2880, and see nothing about the reader connections. If you can find them, I would suggest re-seating them. I will dig around one we have the our graveyard and see if I can find anything. Sorry again.
