IR5055 DADF S1 roller turned to gummy bear

Customer has an IR5055 with ADF S1 jams on the left side. The rollers weren't turning and the green knob was very difficult to turn manually. I found that a registration type roller (connected via belts to the rollers on the left) deep inside has all of the rubber on it turning to a gooey mush .... same as the old delivery rollers on the IRC3200's use to do.

It looks like the part # of the roller is FC5-3010. Can anyone verify this number or know of an updated #?

there are 3 rollers to replace on this DADF that all turn "gummy" and the replacement process takes around 2 to 3 hours when you first start doing this. Canon had a replacement program for the entire DADF at one point as well. The old numbers were discontinued.

Thanks for posting that tech pub. That's exactly the problem the machine has. I'm not looking forward to spending that much time replacing the rollers but I may as well do all three while I'm at it.

if you are going in there kev, get all 3 rollers. Otherwise you are just going to have to go back in at a later date. I was the one who got stuck doing the majority of these in the shop and in the field, so I got pretty good at it, but you have to explode the back side drive and really tear this thing apart.

I saw a tech pub on here long ago, where Canon would provide a new exchange feeder

they canceled that program years ago vigour. That was a really easy deal for a field tech though.
