    Canon iR-ADV c250 E808-0001

    Hello All,

I have a Canon iR-ADV c250 intermittently throwing the folowing error code: E808-0001

The service materials indicates the following:

    "Zero cross signal detection error
An electrical trouble caused by zero cross signal error. Frequency between 43 Hz and 57 Hz could not be detected for 5000 msec or longer."

Anyone else experiencing this issue on this device?

    Thanks in Advance,

Could someone with Canon USA e-support access check and see if there are any knowledgebase articles or e-support forum threads on this issue?

Canadian Canon techie here with no e-support access anymore

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

            Title : E808-0001 Error Code

            Error :
The error code E808-0001 would come up intermittently. Rebooting the machine would allow it to come back to ready and work again for a short while. Reseated the connectors on the Low Voltage Power Supply and DC-Controller with no change. E808-0001 is a zero cross signal detection error (Communication error between Low Voltage Power Supply and DC-Controller).

            Workaround :
Replacing the Low Voltage Power Supply (UN01) part number FM0-0085-000 resolved the issue.

Picture looks like back upper left.

Thanks HelpDeskForum, will check firmware although i belive it is up to date.

                Thanks Dan7777,

I think if the problem continues we may just go ahead and replace the low voltage supply. Was that info from a knowledgebase bulletin on e-support? or from the forums?

                thanks,

I think it was a knowledge bulletin. Got the info off the canon website. Could not download so I just copied and pasted. Could not copy the pictures that showed the location of the low voltage supply. I used to have those zero cross errors on Ricoh machines and usually it was the power at the wall. One place was a manufacturing plant they finally replaced a transformer outside to fix. Don't get them on the Canons at all. Very hard problem to solve. That was the only reference to that code I saw.

Thanks very much for replying to my thread with that info!

We have since brought the device in from the field and wouldn't you know it, it works fine at our site. We are gonna test it a bit longer and see what happens before taking it back.

I suspect that the customers site has some power issues but its so hard to tell.

Thanks again for finding that info for me on the USA E-Support Site.

This sounds just like the problem we had with some early Ir2200 units. At some locations the power supply would cause false e000 e001 fuser errors and etc. Dealers who were paying attention got a new power supply for free.
I remember this because we had one one doing this that was not on a contract. The customer was not happy with the film issues and then these false codes. The tech pub or KB art. blamed the issue on line noise and the inability of the power supply to deal with some circuits so a new PSU was needed! I recommend you replace the PSU. I assume you are using ESP power protection on the line? You should also check neutral to ground voltage too.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.
